Sustainability Policy

Introduction

Sagility India Limited., its parent companies, affiliates, and subsidiaries; and its employees, agents, contractors, vendors, officers, and board members (the “Company” or “Sagility”) are guided by its company values. These values are the foundation of how it conducts itself and interacts with each other, its clients, suppliers, investors, and other stakeholders. The Company is committed to ensuring corporate compliance and promoting an ethical corporate culture by observing the highest standards of fair dealing, honesty, and integrity in its business activities.

Vision and Purpose

Our vision is to become the most caring company. Caring for people’s health is in our DNA, both through our services where we support transformative healthcare, and through promoting employee and community welfare. Caring for the planet is how we drive our operations.

The purpose of the policy is to work towards our sustainability vision and to demonstrate Sagility’s contribution towards the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which will enable monitoring and mitigating risks pertaining to Environment, Social and Governance aspects.

Sagility is a global leader in business process management and optimizing the member/patient experience. Sagility’s whole business model is built up around ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing for end users and patients, which contributes to the SDGs. Sagility is now taking the next step within its own organization and operations and aims to become a recognized industry leader within sustainability. This will be done by fostering a sustainability culture and empowering employees to drive sustainable efforts.

Commitment Introduction

Sagility is committed to integrating sustainability across corporate levels, including policy, culture and operations. Sagility views Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) as three central areas which support value creation in the organization and influences day-to-day operations:

Environment: Sagility’s business operations and value chain have a direct and indirect effect on the environment. Sagility aims to encourage a sense of responsibility around energy, carbon, water and waste within operations and the value chain to reduce the effect on the environment.

Social: Values such as integrity, ethical practice, commitment to excellence, privacy, and compassion, which are synonymous with providing healthcare services, are fundamental to Sagility’s ways of working. Sagility aims to ensure that our organization fosters and provides a physically and psychologically safe environment built on trust, diversity, equality, inclusion, and mutual respect.

Governance: Patient data from healthcare operations is highly confidential. It is imperative for Sagility to have stringent governance over our data banks and all our operations. To ensure this, it is necessary for Sagility to have robust internal controls, timely reporting, and a sense of accountability from stakeholders. Sagility aims to ensure good governance and compliance practices while upholding the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability.

Sagility’s priorities for a sustainable future

Sagility’s focus is to contribute to sustainable development, which includes but is not restricted to the following initiatives:

Environment

Sagility aims to drive operations in a manner that is caring for the planet. Sagility strives to reduce carbon emissions and to optimize use of environmental resources, through the following (but not limited to):

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint by committing to Science Based Target
  • Track Scope 1 and 2 emissions and work towards implementing clean renewable energy sources
  • Track Scope 3 emissions and educate the members of Supply value chain to reduce emissions.
  • Minimize use of fossil fuels and maximize use of renewable sources
  • Introduce and implement measures to recycle and reuse water
  • Recycle waste generated and divert waste from disposal to landfill

Social

Sagility aims to promote employee and community welfare. Sagility strives to act as a responsible employer and promote stakeholder welfare, through the following (but not limited to):

    • Promote workplace wellbeing
    • Foster a diverse, inclusive and hybrid work culture
    • Invest in human capital development for future
    • Strive to understand and resolve employee concerns in an equitable and transparent manner
  • Drive CSR initiatives that support, uplift and develop the local communities with focus on education, sustainable and community development

Governance

Sagility strives to deeply embed good governance, integrity and ethics into the organization’s daily practices, through the following (but not limited to):

  • Ensure transparent, fair and ethical practices
  • Establish adequate measures for data security
  • Provide mandatory trainings and guidance to employees on privacy and data protection
  • Work with suppliers to ensure alignment with our long term sustainability goals Ensure regulatory compliance to all applicable laws and directives

Further, The Sustainability programme of the Company will be governed by the CSR and Sustainability Committee that has been appointed by the Company Board. The Committee will govern the Sustainability programme through the Sustainability Council.  The roles and responsibilities of the Committee has been defined in CSR & Sustainability Committee Charter ( DOC# SGT-GL/Policy/CS/1004)

  • The Sustainability Core Group shall meet and report progress on Sustainability targets to the Committee at least once a year and as and when required.
  • The Sustainability Project Lead provides monthly updates to the Sustainability Head and CEO.
  • Sustainability Working Group meets a monthly frequency to discuss the progress and next steps on the defined action plan and meet on occasion as deemed necessary or appropriate.

** Sustainability Council: The Sustainability Council is made up of a Core Sustainability Group and a Sustainability Working Group 

*** Sustainability Working Groups: Constituted to support on E, S and G focus areas of execution comprising of representation from departments across all geographies.

Roles and Responsibilities of Sustainability Head

  • Create ambitions & goals: 
      • Develop Sustainability ambitions and goals of the organization with support from Sustainability Core and Working Group
  • Create structures & implement: 
      • Drive implementation of Sustainability initiatives
      • Establish a Sustainability supportive mind-set and culture – across all hierarchical levels of the organization
  • Monitor & report: 
    • Monitor progress and give guidance/recommendations to the Committee
    • Track and have responsibility for Sustainability performance of the organization
    • Provide periodic updates to the Board and CEO on the Sustainability agenda
    • Report the Sustainability Risks and Opportunities to the Board
    • Oversee and recommend to the Board of Directors (“the Board”) on the Company’s policies, strategies and programs related to matters of Environment, Social and Governance that may affect the business, operations, performance, or public image of the Company or are otherwise pertinent to the Company and its stakeholders, and to make recommendations 

Roles and Responsibilities of Sustainability Core Group 

The overall role and responsibility of the Sustainability Core Group is to support the Sustainability Head by reviewing and guiding the work carried out by the Working Group 

  • Create ambitions & goals: 
      1. Develop Sustainability ambitions and goals of the organization together with the Sustainability Head and Working Group
  • Review & report:
      1. Review the Company’s stakeholder engagement plan around material Sustainability issues identified by management
      2. Review the Company’s performance on all Sustainability matters and Sustainability metrics 
      3. Review periodic updates from the working group on ESG trends and key initiatives
      4. Periodically review and monitor external Sustainability ratings of the Company
      5. Present budgetary plans for carrying out Sustainability initiatives to the Sustainability head and CEO
      6. Periodically review Sustainability Risks & Opportunities
  • Additional: 
  • Carry out other functions as may be delegated by the Board of Directors from time to time, or as may be stipulated under the Act or any other law applicable to the Company, for time being in force.

Roles and Responsibilities of Sustainability Working Group

The overall role and responsibility of the Sustainability Working Group is to support the Sustainability Core Group through execution and implementation of work 

  • Create structures & implement: 
      1. Establish Sustainability processes and standardize them across all geographies
  • Assess & execute: 
      1. Gathering Sustainability Data (ESG data), monitoring and reporting to the Core Group
      2. Identifying improvement opportunities and assessing their cost benefit analysis before implementation
      3. Drive Sustainability awareness throughout the organization to support Sustainability supportive mind-set and culture
      4. Identify Sustainability specific risks and mitigation actions for 
      5. Analyze latest Sustainability trends and actively assess how they affect the organization’s sustainability practices

Area of applicability

This policy will be applicable to all employees, suppliers/ service providers and key stakeholders across geographies. The policy will be reviewed internally on a periodic basis to reflect any changes in the business.

Key ESG Metrics

Sagility through its adopted approach further keeps vigil on its sustainability performance. Apart from embedding ESG parameters as part of day to day operations and practices, the following key metrices are identified to demonstrate a high-level indication about Sagility’s Sustainability performance (which are not limited to) : 

  1. GHG Emission reduction (Scope 1, 2 & 3) as per SBTi validated targets 
  2. Renewable Energy Ratio – YOY improvement
  3. Full time employee NPS –  ≥ 50 
  4. Client NPS – ≥ 50 
  5. Male to Female Ratio  – ≤70

We are above the median of industry benchmark conducted by third party and are closer to the high score, we focus to sustain for next 5 years

Disclosures

Sagility will publish relevant sustainability performance on an annual basis. To demonstrate our contribution towards the SDGs and our listed targets, we will publish relevant sustainability details through applicable sustainability indices and forums as appropriate.
