Speakers

Dennis Mihale MD, MBA,
Chief Medical Officer, Upward Health

Dennis has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo, an M.D. from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and an MBA from USF. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the AAOM Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review. In addition to being a Major in the U.S. Army, Dennis served as an executive for IBM Global Services and also worked in the Office of the Mayor, City of New York. During his time with IBM he worked on bioengineering projects and with NASA’s Application Transfer Team. He has been CEO and Chief Medical Officer of several healthcare and healthcare technology firms. His most recent appointment is Chief Medical Officer for Upward Health, with offices in New Orleans, Providence, and New York. Some of the awards Dennis has collected include CEO of the Year: Tampa Bay Forum; Entrepreneur of the Year: USF College of Business Administration; Physician Business Leader of the Year: Medical Business Journal; as well as the Fellow, National Science Foundation.

Jill Warren,
SVP of Clinical Operations, Sagility

Jill Warren is a healthcare management leader with experience assisting organizations with achieving their strategic initiatives. In her role as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations, she leads all clinical operations in the US and works closely with Sagility’s clients and their members to deliver evidence-based, timely, preventative, personalized, cost-effective care with focus on the whole person that improves health, value and overall quality of life. Jill joined Sagility in January 2022 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, where she was Vice President of Provider Partnerships and Operations. In this role she established and executed on a Provider Partnership Innovation strategy which involved complex payment methodologies, from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement, for a network spanning 8 large healthcare systems and 10,000 providers. Jill graduated from Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing and focused her nursing career as a cardiac intensive care nurse. Jill also graduated from National Louis University with a degree in Health Care Leadership.

Nirali Patel,
VP and Chief Compliance Officer, Sagility

Nirali Patel is the global head of compliance for Sagility and is responsible for compliance initiatives across all client engagements. Nirali has more than 20 years in the managed care industry. She excels in implementation of an effective compliance program for Medicaid managed care organizations and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans. Nirali has worked closely with Medicare, Medicaid, and MMP health plans to meet their internal goals and regulatory compliance requirements. Her areas of expertise include compliance program implementation, program audits and remediation processes, state and CMS applications filing, appeals and grievances, drafting and implementing SNP Model of Care (MOC) for C-SNP, I-SNP and D-SNP organizations, agent oversight and provider contracting. She is well versed in CMS audit protocols, conducting mock audits, data validation audits, and all aspects of audit preparation and remediation. She has a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law (MJ) from Loyola University Chicago.
